Jess and Sam. You two gave us the best fall wedding ever! Ok so maybe I’m a little biased … Jess is one of my dear friends and I had the absolute pleasure of photographing her beautiful fall wedding. Her family in fact is like a second family to me, my Dutch family is what I like to call them
Her sister (and maid of honor) is one of my best friends and was my maid of honor at my own wedding earlier this year. So needless to say that this wedding was very near and dear to me .. especially since my husband and I were also guests![]()
Jess and Sam got married on the most beautiful October day and I couldn’t have asked for better weather, fall colours, a more stunning couple, and a better group of people to work with. Jess’ mom Truus even made me a snack before the ceremony! I definitely got a little spoiled :p The ceremony was on their front lawn .. YES that is their front lawn! Jess’ parents bought this beautiful farm in Orangeville just over a year ago and have been doing endless renos and restoration to the beautiful old farm house both inside and out to make it just perfect for the wedding. And it absolutely paid off! We did all the photos here and went to David’s Restaurant in Erin for dinner and back to the farm for the reception. All in all it was a perfect day! I’m so happy for you both and I wish you a lifetime of happiness! –Dee
Jess was almost all set, except she didn’t have her ‘something blue’ so we tore a little piece off one of the gift boxes and had her drop it down her dress
It worked perfect!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE when couples opt to do a ‘first look’ before the ceremony for so many reasons! First, I love to see the true reactions of both the bride and groom as they see each other for the first time. It is such an intimate and precious moment since usually there is no one but the bride and groom and they have time to enjoy each other in the few minutes during the first look. Second I love that we can get all the photos done before the ceremony so once the ceremony is done, our couples are free to enjoy their wedding and their guests. And third, is because photos before the ceremony are so much more relaxed for everyone and it gives us the opportunity to take our time, have some fun and get tons of amazing shots!
Can you believe that this is Jess’ parents’ farm? It is STUNNING! The colours were just perfect!
I’m not sure how it started but but all the sudden I got spirit fingers!
Jess you rocked! She was literally up for anything!! Including lying in the grass and climbing the big straw bails!
This was so cute! Jess’ dad went to give her a kiss on the cheek as he was giving her away and instead landed one on her lips which gave us all a good giggle … especially Jess! LOL
If there is one man who knows how to give a toast it is Jess’ dad, Martin! He gives the best Hippiteepeep! (A Dutch toast). Martin even gave the toast at Adam and I’s wedding![]()
I love getting these … it was also a nice change seeing Adam & Diana instead of Amy & Diana LOL
Jess and I
Of course I had to get at least one photo with us!
